Fleeing driver hits semi head-on and dies, officials say

WARMAN, Minn. — A Mora man was killed Monday when the Jeep he was driving crossed lanes and collided with a truck as he was being pursued by authorities, police said.

The Minnesota State Patrol said Christopher Scott Podvin, 37, was driving north on state Highway 65 in Aitkin County about 11 a.m. when his 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee collided with a southbound 1996 International 21000 driven by Jeffrey Norman Vorbeck, 61, of Tamarack.
