URBAN EMBASSY – MINNEAPOLIS

Position Summary:

Responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs for Red Lake Nation Elder members in the Minneapolis area. Reports to Director, part-time position (24 hours per week), no benefits, salary; DOQ.

Essential Functions:

• Create literature and foundation for Red Lake Nation Elders in the Minneapolis and Duluth communities to foster growth and inner securities

• Develop community outreach strategies that meet agency and client needs

• Commitment to deliver exceptional services to seniors

• Foster a collaborative and creative environment

• Execute innovative outreach solutions

• Raise awareness about direct service programs

• Deepen engagement through education and outreach to traditional and new community partners

• Coordinate a social media presence

• Research and write grants to expand current program and diversify funding sources

• Coordinate and assist Urban Embassies MPLS/Duluth with event planning and execution

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community groups, preferably the elderly, and other area governmental agencies

• Multitask, prioritize, and follow through on multiple projects to effectively

• Meet goals and deadlines

• Able to travel in the Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Duluth area(s)

• Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Journalism, or Marketing

• Five (5) years of previous experience working with the Elder community

• Knowledge of federal and state funded programs preferred

• Previous work with seniors is preferred

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required

• Must have valid Minnesota driver's license and proof of insurance

• Must never been convicted of a felony

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
