GRIC detective honored for ending 'painful chapter' on reservation

WASHINGTON — The U.S. Justice Department recognized a detective from the Gila River Police Department on Friday for helping to arrest a man suspected of abusing multiple children over a 30-year period.

Detective Kevin Rivers was honored by DOJ officials in celebration of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, which commemorates crime victims and those who advocate on their behalf.
