Deland Joseph Beaulieu Sr., "Ozaawi Makwa Gaa'niibowid"- which mean Brown Bear Standing-Bear Clan, age 29 of Redby, MN. Deland made his way into the spirit world on November 6, 2017. Deland was found March 22, 2018 in Lower Red Lake.

A one night wake will be held at the Little Rock Community Center beginning at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the Little Rock Community Center with Fr. Jerry Rogers officiating, with a feast to follow. Inernment will be at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji.

Honorary bearers will be, Deland's 7 Clans Co-Workers, friends he made while working at the fisheries, John Bigbear, Lyle Benais, Dave Dudley Sr., Shana Woodworth, Candace Rock, Buffy Barrett, MaryEllen Cook Stillday, Charles Goodwin, Andrew Goodwin Sr. & Jr., Corey and Victoria Stately, Julie Dick, Jan, Toady, Arty Thunder and Hooligans Softball Team.

Casket bearers will be, Toby Donnell, Stan Cook, James Brown, Lee Fier, Robert Fier, John Elmberg, Rodney Spears Jr. and Deiland Bigbear.

Deland Joseph Beaulieu Sr. was born May 2, 1988 in Minneapolis, MN to James Dick and Rita Beaulieu. Deland grew up in Red Lake, MN where he attended school. Throughout Deland's career he worked for Red Lake Nations Seven Clans Casino for 12 years in various positions and also at the Red Lake Fisheries. In his free time he enjoyed spending time with his children, family, softball, fishing on the lake, going to pow wows and going to the casino. Deland thrived on experiencing and exploring life with his wife, Crystal.

Deland is survived by his wife, Crystal Beaulieu Donnell of Redby; daughters, Dlynne, Damilyn, Maryana, Dalayna and Gaa'pawaanind; son, Deland Jr .; step-daughters, Whitney, Courtney, Nicole and Ayiana; step-sons, Jeremiah Jr. and Torey Jr .; brothers, Derek Beaulieu, Dustin Beaulieu, Dacey Beaulieu, John Bigbear and Gregory Jayme; sisters, Darcey Beaulieu and Deanna Budreau; mother, Rita Beaulieu; maternal grandmother, Elizabeth Beaulieu; special uncle, Tom Sumner and special parents, Richard and MaryAnn Cook.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Dick; paternal grandparents, James Iceman and Julia Dick; maternal grandfather, Douglas Cloud; brother, Kevin Olberding and special friend, Jacob "Jake" Kingbird.
