LLTP find methamphetamine, prescription pills and firearms during execution of search warrant

On March 20, 2018, the Leech Lake Tribal Police Department executed a search warrant in the Prescott Housing area of Cass Lake. During the execution of the warrant, law enforcement located methamphetamine, illegally possessed prescription pills, and two firearms.

James Lee Roper Jr. of Cass Lake was arrested and booked into the Cass County Jail for possession of the controlled substances.

Carlos Ramone Sargent of Cass Lake was located inside the residence and arrested for multiple warrants. Sargent was actively being sought by law enforcement after he absconded from a medical furlough in February.

Further charges will be sought for an ineligible person possessing a firearm. The firearms seized from the warrant will be submitted to the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension for analysis.

The Leech Lake Tribal Police was assisted at the warrant by the Cass County Sheriff's Office, Paul Bunyan Drug Task Force and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
