Bemidji Pioneer: Sumner announces bid for Red Lake tribal secretary

RED LAKE—Beltrami County Commissioner Tim Sumner announced Thursday that he will run for Red Lake tribal secretary.

Sumner, who began to his second term as a District 4 representative in 2017, said he would give up his position as county commissioner if elected. He filed to run for the Red Lake office Thursday, but has been thinking about doing so for three or four months.
