Donald Roman Cook, Jr., age 47, of Red Lake, began his spiritual journey on Friday, March 9, 2018 at the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. He was born on May 6, 1970 in Minneapolis the son of Donald Roman Cook, Sr. and Geraldine Joan Neadeau.

Donald attended school at St. Mary's Mission school, South High School in Minneapolis and graduated from the Red Lake High School in 1988 with a total of ten in his graduating class. He enjoyed being with his grand-kids, going to the casinos, and the pow-wow trails. Donald loved to travel and explore new things on his trips. He also loved being around his closest friends, nieces, nephews, and meeting new people. Donald had the biggest heart and was always open minded to everyone that was brought into his life. He worked at the Red Lake fisheries for seven years and also for the Red Lake casinos for some time. Donald devoted his life to taking care of his special grand daughter Tyniah R. Cook.

The family that Donald joins again are his parents; Donald, Sr. and Geraldine, aunties; Roberta Crowe, Amelia Cook, Delores Good, Ina Mae McNeal, and Vi Donnell. Uncles; Myron Neadeau, Sr., Frances Neadeau, James, Jr. and Douglas Neadeau, great grandparents; Ida and Teddy Cook and James and Katie Neadeau, special cousin Eric Neadeau.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his sons; Aaron (Cody) Cook, Dylan Cook, Lydell Cook, and Damien Peake, daughters; Tierra Cook and Lucinda Auginash, grandchildren; Chase, Lennox, Aubrielle, Taelynne and TyNiah Cook, special friend Donis Rodriguez; brother; Duane Needham, sisters; Lisa Cook, Felicia (Cook) Greene, Marla Needham, and Vickie Neadeau, uncles; Fabian Cook, Hank Cook, Leon Neadeau, aunts; Edwina, Alivia Neadeau, Allura May, Elaine "Honey" Blanchard, Barbara Cook, Mary Ellen (Cook) Stillday and Sammi Jo Braddock.

A wake for Donald will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 and will continue until the 1:00 p.m. service on Friday, March 16 all held at the Red Lake Community Center in Red Lake. Father Jerry Rogers will officiate. Pallbearers for Donald will be Aaron Cody Cook, Lydell Defoe, Jeffrey Cook, Jaden Wood, Duane Neadeau, Brian Seki, Irv Sayers, Craig Cook, Clayton Cook, Sheldon Cook, Sr., Jeremy Neadeau, Eddy Fairbanks, Sr., Rod Spears, Jr., Chunky Crowe, Duane Cook, Sr., Rod Lussier, Mike Good, Shannon Neadeau, Leo Cook and Brian Vasquez. Honorary pallbearers; Dylan Cook, Tierra Cook, Lucinda Auginash, Damien Peak, Robbie Cook, Sr., Dan Neadeau, Dave Bower, Wendell Blue, Pat Brun, Rod Spears, Sr., Brian Crowe, Teddi Crowe, Ryan Neadeau, Devin Neadeau, Jeris Beaulieu, Cyrus King, Kevin Cook, Sr., Bill McNeal, Donis Rodriguez, Janet Drouillard, Kim Cook, Kristi Day, Lylah May, Sharon Cook, Tristan Harmon, Vince Cobenais, Sam White, Lola Hegstrom, Kari Cook, Negoni Neadeau, Sheila Neadeau, Reuben Wind, Kara Cook, Taleigha Cook, Dezmen Cook, Felicia (Cook) Greene, Alicia Gurno, Jordan Downwind, and Rob Cook, Sr .
