Lady Warriors finish regular season 23-3 with 66-49 win over Pine River - P23

Will play for Northwoods Conference Championship against WHA on Saturday, February 24th in Clearbrook

RED LAKE - On Friday, February 16, 2018 the Red Lake Lady Warriors wrapped up their regular season by beating Pine River at home, 66-49.

It was a hard fought battle right from the beginning, with Pine River-Backus leading 29-28 at the half.

But the Lady Warriors opened it up in the second half, outscoring their opponents 38-20, giving them the win 66-49.

Autumn Holthusen of Red Lake led all scorers with 23 points, Alexis Desjarlait added 22, Angel McClain put in 9, Kelanna McClain added 6 and Gericka Kingbird hit for 4.

Gabby Rainwater and Alyssa Semmier each had 17 points for Pine River.

The JV game saw Pine River come back from being down 30-21 with 6 minutes to go, to win it by a last second shot, 37-36.

Red Lake finished their regular season 23-3 overall, 15-2 Section record and 14-1 in the Northwoods Conference.

This is the first year that the Lady Warriors are back in the Northwoods Conference after being out of it for many years.

They will play Walker-Hackensack-Akley for the Northwoods Conference Championship next Saturday, in Clearbrook, at 2 PM. Clearbrook was deemed a neutral site for this game.

The State Girls Basketball Tournament is scheduled for 3/14/2018-3/17/2018 at Target Center/Williams/Concordia. The District 8A Tournament dates and teams have not been announced yet as of this publishing, but their first game will be played in Red Lake, before having to travel to Thief River Falls.
