Raymond George Oliver, age 69 of Robbinsdale and formerly North Minneapolis, journeyed to the Spirit World on March 2, 2018. Ray was born the son of George and Eliza (Dudley) Oliver on November 16, 1948 and was raised in North Minneapolis. Ray served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. While serving he was given the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Ray worked as a professional printer for Label Products where he specialized in flexographic printing. He was always one to remain busy so…Upon his “retirement” Ray went to work for an auto glass company, installing broken windshields.
Ray is survived by his wife of 46 years Robbie; son Ray “Evans” Oliver; step-daughter Shanda (Jim) Lohse; grandchildren Ella Lohse, Rayanne Gates, Meadow, Madison, Cyrus, Maura and Marianna Oliver; siblings Shirley Oliver, Georgette (Frankie) Robertson, Carmen Oliver, Ron Oliver and Robert “Bee” Oliver; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents George & Eliza Oliver; brothers Kevin and Eugene Oliver.
All night wake will begin Thursday, March 8 at 4:00 p.m. at the Upper Midwest American Indian Center, 1035 W Broadway Ave, Minneapolis.
Funeral service will be Friday, March 9 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Upper Midwest American Indian Center.
Interment will Friday, March 9 at 11:30 a.m. at Assembly Area #2 at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
