Michael Ernest "Old School" Stevens, 61, started his journey home on March 1, 2018 at home surrounded by family and friends in Southend Bagley, MN.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN with a visitation one hour prior. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Michael was born in Anaconda, Montana on October 8, 1956 the son of Ernest Stevens and Delima Benson. He attended Salish-Kootena College; Michael worked as a journey man carpenter and also at the town pump gas station. He also worked in the forestry service doing various jobs, such as firefighter and planting trees. He and his brother, Wayde, were famous apple pickers and storytellers. Michael liked woodworking, especially with diamond willow. He also liked to bead with his wife, Susan.

He lived in Red Pheasant Reserve Saskatchewan, Canada, Browning, Pablo and Missoula, Montana over his life. He came home to the White Earth Reservation to spend his last days with his family here in the Bagley area. Michael was well loved by all that he met. He made our lives more enjoyable. He was a very outgoing, caring person, who liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed walking around, visiting with family and friends and making new ones along the way. He will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his step mom, Charlotte Ortley; his wife, Susan Tatsey Stevens; his sons, Patrick (Tera) Benson Stevens (39), Michael Stevens, Jr. (36), both of Red Pheasant Reserve Saskatchewan, Canada, and Thomas Redmon (13) of Browning, MT; daughters, Patricia Kicking Woman (43) of Browning, MT and Camille Tatsey (35) of Missoula, MT; his brothers, William, Daniel, and Ernest Stevens, all of Bagley, MN; his special brother, John Gagnon; his sisters, Sheila (Keith) Stevens of Bagley, MN, Josette (Ralph) Thunder of Red Lake, MN, and Liza Stevens of Bagley, MN; his favorite cousins, John Gagnon, Jr., Dawn Goodwin, Charley Gagnon, Renee Gagnon, Lesley Gagnon, Kelly Rice, Roy Littlewolf, and Joe Earl; numerous grand kids, great grandkids, and many nephews and nieces that loved him very much.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Stevens; his mother, Delima Benson; his brothers, Patrick, Lionel, Craig, and Wayde; his sisters, Lisa and Dode; and his ex-wife, Brenda.
