SUPERVISOR – INDIAN & FREE PREVENTION/TREATMENT

CHEMICAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

Opening: March 1, 2018

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for the overall administration of the Program in terms of planning, budgeting, organizing, developing human services and evaluating in accordance with federal, state, county and local standard guidelines and regulations. Reports to Executive Director, full-time w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Supervising, planning, developing, reviewing implementing and evaluating the Drug Abuse Prevention Treatment Program

• Familiarizing the people of the Red Lake Indian Reservation with the functions and responsibilities of the Drug Abuse Prevention Treatment Program

• Direction, consulting and insuring staff carry out their duties and responsibilities

• Obtaining, reviewing and approving all Drug Prevention materials that will be used by the Program

• Coordinating staff training

• Working with staff and community in developing a Health Education/Drug Prevention Program

• Submitting electronic grant application and reports required by federal agency.

• Keeping inventory and distributing training equipment when needed

• Coordinating and assisting other agencies in the promotion of drug fee lifestyle

• Supervising staff in the development of treatment plans when necessary

• Assuring that the staff follows the established rules of confidentiality as state in CFR 42 Part 2

• Administrative requirements such as writing correspondence, memorandums, completing necessary forms, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports

• Organize, prepare and present written and oral information clearly and concisely

• Prepares for and conducts at least bi-weekly staff meetings and provides minutes for staff

• Educational presentations for community groups (i.e., schools and other agencies)

• Adheres to state and federal policies to maintain and promote strict client and employee confidentiality

• Assist staff in the development of career plans

• Adhere to Professional Standards, Ethics and Boundaries

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• GED/High School Diploma

• Two (2) year experience in the field of human services

• Two (2) years of chemical dependency rehabilitation experience including supervisory experience

• Ability to work cohesively with Management and local agencies

• Two (2) years of sobriety

• Possess valid Minnesota Driver's License with auto insurance

• Knowledge of the traditions and customs of the Native American people native to the Red Lake Band

• Must abstain and/or refrain from using mood altering chemicals at all times

• Submit to mandatory random alcohol/drug testing

• On-call 24-hours a day, seven days a week

• Knowledge of the 12-step AA Program

• Ability to make independent decisions, have adequate concept of the program and projects

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
