Gordon "Gordy" Roy Desjarlait (Niijiwanabozo), age 62, journeyed to the spirit world on February 9, 2018 at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, MN. He was born on December 7, 1956 in Red Lake, MN to Mr. Francis "Bishie" Desjarlait, Jr., and Margaret Dickenson. He moved to the Twin Cities in 1976 to start a new and adventurous life. He was always on the move and enjoyed meeting new people. He enjoyed music, Elvis and the Beatles, velvet painting and drawing. He was a jokester and someone who loved to make people smile. His life in the cities brought him four children: Anthony, Aleesha, Brandon and Tova Desjarlait; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Gordy is preceded in death by his mother: Margaret Dickenson; and brother: Gerald Desjarlait.

He is survived by his father: Francis "Bishie" Desjarlait of Minneapolis, MN; brothers: Leroy and Glen Mattson both of Duluth, MN; sisters: Gail Desjarlait of Duluth,MN; Cindy Sandera(Ricky), Connie Desjarlait of New Brighton, MN and Kari(Stevie) Walker of New Hope, MN;
