Minneapolis woman ordered detained on St. Kate's arson, terror charges

A former St. Catherine University student who is accused of trying to travel to Afghanistan to join al-Qaida was “self-radicalized” and intended to kill people when she set several fires on the St. Paul college campus last month, a federal prosecutor argued Monday.

Tnuza Jamal Hassan, 19, of Minneapolis, was arrested last month after allegedly setting the nine fires. No one was hurt in the Jan. 17 fires, but one was set in a dormitory that houses a day care where 33 children were present.
