South Dakota tribes sue drugmakers over opioid painkillers

Three Native American tribes in South Dakota have sued opioid industry players in federal court, alleging they sold addictive drugs without warning of their dangers.

The lawsuit from the Rosebud, Flandreau and Sisseton-Wahpeton Sioux tribes is led by two former U.S. Attorneys and follows more than 70 similar cases filed around the country.
