Warriors drop to 5-5 on season with 68-53 loss to Walker-Hackensack-Akley

Warriors JV comes away with a close one, 52-51

RED LAKE - The Red Lake Warriors hosted the Walker-Hackensack-Akley Wolves on Thursday, January 4, 2018, coming off a loss to Cass Lake on December 21st.

The Wolves, 5-3 on the season, led 35-23 at the half, but at the 7:39 mark of the second half, the Warriors caught up to take the lead 44-43, only to have WHA get it back and hang on to win, 68-53.

Nathaniel Armstrong led all scores for the Wolves with 19, Edgar Anderson added 15 and Gavon Deskeene and Cole Nelson each hit for 10 points.

Kendall Whitefeather led the Warriors with 16, Justin Barrett added 10, David Smith put in 9 and Frank Papasodora hit for 6.

Red Lake travels to Cass Lake on Thursday, January 5th, will host Pine River on January 12th, then travel to Maple Grove on January 13th.

The Red Lady Warriors traveled to Oklee to play Red Lake County Central also this same night, getting their 10th win of the season with a

80-29 victory. The girls are now 10-1 overall and will travel to Cass Lake on January 5th to play the Lady Panthers, will host Mountain-Iron-Buhl on Saturday, January 6th before traveling to Osseo on January 13th.
