Beltrami Electric Cooperative Anticipates Significant Utilization of the Demand Response Program

Bemidji, Minn. – Due to the cold weather in the region and energy market conditions Beltrami Electric Cooperative is anticipating significant utilization of the Demand Response program starting tonight through Friday January 5th. This may include the use of Dual Heat control during the overnight hours. This will impact members utilizing the off-peak program who, by using backup heating systems during these periods of peak electrical demand, are contributing to our efforts to control the overall cost of electrical service and ensuring the reliability of the electrical grid.

Beltrami Electric Cooperative is asking members to ensure that their back up heating system is operational and conserve where possible during this period of peak electrical demand.
