Over $3 million dollars disbursed to Red Lake Tribal members - P9

RED LAKE - In October 2017 the Red lake Tribal Council approved a $250.00 payment distribution for the enrolled membership of the Red Lake Band of Chippewa Indians. There are over 12,000 enrolled members of the Red Lake Band.

Over $3 million was distributed to both on and off reservation members, with on reservation checks distributed at two locations on Saturday, December 16, 2017 from 8 AM to 8 PM. Those locations were at the Red Lake Humanities Center for Red Lake, Little Rock and Redby Districts, and at the Ponemah Boys and Girls Club for the Ponemah District.

Off Reservation members' checks were mailed on Thursday, December 14th.

Those checks that were not picked up on Saturday will be mailed to their current addresses on Monday, December 18th.

Checks reported lost will have a 60-day waiting period before it will be re-issued. A $20.00 stop payment fee will be deducted from the check.

Stolen checks must be reported to your local law enforcement, and a police report will be required by the Accounting Department.

No checks will be issued after March 31, 2016 and unclaimed funds are required to be returned to the Trust Fund Account.

 Checks reported LOST will have a 60-day waiting period before it will be re-issued. A $30.00 stop payment fee will be deducted from the check.

 Stolen checks MUST be reported to your local law enforcement. Stolen checks will not be re-issued by the Accounting Department. Recovery of a stolen check must be pursued through your local law enforcement and court system.

 NO CHECKS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER MARCH 31, 2018. Unclaimed monies are required to be returned to the Trust Fund Account.
