After 62-year-old falls on St. Paul sidewalk, 'Grinch' swipes her cellphone

When a 62-year-old woman slipped and fell on a St. Paul sidewalk, a man passing by didn’t stop to help her, but instead stole her cellphone, according to a police report.

“The suspect in this case personified the Grinch,” said Steve Linders, a St. Paul police spokesman. “He didn’t ask her if she was OK. He didn’t help her up. He didn’t even keep on his merry way. Instead, he stole her cellphone, which was a gift from her son. It’s disappointing to think someone would ever do that, much less during the holidays.”
