Eleanor Larson, Holt, MN, age 80, died December 4, 2017 at Altru Hospital, Grand Forks, ND

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN with Reverend Kathie Rhodes Officiating. Burial will be held at the Holt Cemetery, Holt, MN.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Holt, MN 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.

Eleanor Geraldine Sanders was born June 1, 1937 daughter of Elvin and Selma (Sunsdahl) Sanders at Thief River Falls, MN. She was raised in the Highlanding area where she attended country school and graduated from Goodridge High School in 1956.

Eleanor moved to the Minneapolis area where she worked for 2 years. In 1958 she returned to Thief River Falls where she met Clifford Larson at a Highlanding dance. On August 29, 1959 she was united in marriage to Clifford at Greenbush, MN. To this union 5 children were born Charyl, Valorie, Terry, Larry and David. They purchased a farm near Holt where they made their home. In 1965 the original farm home burned and a new one was built in 1966 where they have resided for the past 58 years. In 1989 she began working at Young's General Store in Middle River, MN where she worked for 14 years retiring in 2003.

Eleanor was a hard working wife, helping do the field work, cattle, haying, cultivating and plowing. She enjoyed gardening, her flower garden, taking seeds and seeing if they would grow, mowing grass and just being outside. She also enjoyed painting, drawing, dancing with Clifford, playing guitar and singing. She was an active member of the Nazareth Church, served on the council and was a call committee member, President of WELCA, secretary, and Deacon. She was a member of the Ringbo Homemakers where she was treasurer. She brought joy and happiness to everyone's heart. She was a very special person to everyone.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years Clifford of Holt, MN; children Charyl (Alex) De Alva of Glendale, AZ, Valorie Larson of Glendale, AZ, Terry Larson of Newfolden, MN, Larry (Tammy) Larson of Roseau, MN and David (Brenda) Larson of Newfolden, MN; grandchildren Tyler De Alva, Alec De Alva, Brady DeAlva, Kalen Yelvington, Kole Yelvington, Trevor Veselka, Mychal Larson, Michelle Larson, Natalie Larson, Rachel Larson and Jessica Larson; siblings Earl (Carol) Sanders of Embarrass, MN, Teresa (Al) Lawrence of Hillman, MN, Sandy (Duane) Kuznia of Stephen, MN, Joy Misson of Thief River Falls, MN, and Ellen Lussier of Red Lake, MN, along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents Elvin and Selma Sanders, an infant brother, brother Arlin Sanders, brother-in-law Rod Lussier.
