Brian Anthony Lawrence, Mino-Anangoowinine (Good Star Man), age 34, of the Bear Clan and currently residing in Bemidji, Minnesota passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 19, 2017 in Bemidji, MN. Brian was born on January 3, 1983 in Bemidji, MN to Gwendolyn (Donnell) and Gerard Lawrence.

Brian was a fun-loving, kind soul who epitomized the definition of gentleman. He didn't have a mean bone in his body. He cared deeply for his family and friends, especially for his children. His mischievous smile could light up a room and make you happy to be in his presence. Brian enjoyed family occasions and was eagerly looking forward to the family thanksgiving gathering. His family gives thanks for having Brian in their lives.

Brian was knowing as B-Boy, for his love for basketball. Brian enjoyed video games and playing online. He was known for his competitiveness in SoCom. He always joked, teased his family and friends. Brian had a lifelong connection with his neighborhood friends from Barton's Camp Housing. Brian will be greatly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Family that Brian joins again are grandparents; Sophie and Frank Donnell, Sr. and Marie and Benedict Lawrence, father; Gerard Lawrence, special auntie; Lorraine and Louis Contreras, aunties and uncles; Elaine Donnell, Carol and Nathanial Bevins William Roy, Sr., David Donnell, Gordon Donnell, Harold Lawrence and Victor Roy, Sr., nephew; Misko Miigizi Lawrence and other relations.

Those he leaves behind to cherish his memory are his sons; Braiden Lawrence and Elijah (Lawrence) Smith, mother; Gwendolyn Lawrence of Red Lake, sisters; Paula (Floyd) Lawrence of Red Lake, Cammie (Andrew) Fohrenkam of Minneapolis and Evelyn Fohrenkam of Las Vegas, NV, brothers; Jason (Tana) Lawrence, Sr. of Winnebago, NE, Garrick Lawrence, Sr. of Bemidji, Curtis Fohrenkam of Minneapolis, Michael Johnson of Bemidji and Anthony Chosa of Minneapolis, special friend; Alicia Alsarmi, aunties; Judy Roy, Lynette Tyler, Bonita Lawrence and Lisa Thomas, uncles; Frank Donnell, Jr., Lloyd Donnell, Francis Lawrence and Earl Thomas, seven nieces, 13 nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and many friends.

A wake for Brian will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 22nd at the Redby Community Center in Redby, MN and continue there until his 1:00 p.m., funeral service on Friday, November 24, 2017 at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN. Father John Christianson will officiate. Pallbearers for Brian will be Matthew Lawrence, Tristan Lawrence, Garrick Lawrence, Jr., Michael Whitefeather, Jr., Terrell Whitefeather and Marcus Tyler. Alternates are Jason Lawrence, Jr., William Tyler and Terrence Whitefeather. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Johnson, Brandon Cordova, Morris Beaulieu, Andy Tillotson, Michael Sumner, Kenneth Graves, Dominic Johnson, Duane Smith, Jr., Fabian Cloud, Arlen Desjarlait, Gloria Tyler, Jenny Schoenborn, Tamera Lawrence, Samantha Lawrence, Michaela Whitefeather, Shelly Lawrence, Craig Bevins, Mylen Brummond, Judy Brummond, Braiden Lawrence, Elijah (Lawrence) Smith, Guiliana Lawrence and Whitney Lawrence. Interment will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Red Lake, MN following his Friday service.
