Minnesota deer harvest higher than last year after second weekend

After a slow start due to weather and standing corn in the fields, the second weekend of firearms deer season trumped last year’s numbers.

Minnesota firearms hunters registered 145,054 deer through Nov. 12, up 10 percent from last year, although fewer of the deer were bucks, according to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.
