Red Lake Police Department: Missing Fishermen Update - Day 4

On Thursday November 9, Red Lake and Leech Lake Law Enforcement, Red Lake Fire Department, community and family members continued to work wooded areas and shorelines by foot and ATV's and once again were unsuccessful in locating the missing fishermen.

The Red Lake Department of Public Safety reported it did not have any success locating either Deland Beaulieu, 29, or the 17-year-old boy who were on a Red Lake Fisheries boat when it capsized on Monday.

Law Enforcement will be using cadaver dogs on Friday and are respectfully requesting volunteers to stay off of the frozen shorelines near designated search areas while the dogs are in use. Areas to be searched will be marked by law enforcement.

Law Enforcement thanked everyone for the donated food and drinks and ongoing assistance from community volunteers and family members and assisting agencies.

Red Lake Department of Public Safety officials are urging safety and reminding people that lake ice is still forming near shorelines and great discretion must be used when venturing on frozen shorelines.

Officials are asking that volunteers stay away from the open water until ice is properly formed and the lake is completely frozen over with an adequate amount of ice for traversing by vehicle.

RLDPS officials also anticipate using aircrafts, drones and cadaver dogs for ongoing searches and will continue to seek the public's help as needed.

Once again, Law Enforcement will be using cadaver dogs on Friday and are respectfully requesting volunteers to stay off of the frozen shorelines near designated search areas while the dogs are in use. Areas to be searched will be marked by law enforcement.
