"THE GOOD PATH OF LIFE" PROGRAM COORDINATOR

RED LAKE NATION BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to attain the goals and objectives contained in the "Good Path of Life" Tribal Youth Program leading to improve the health and wellness of Red Lake Nation youth. Reports to Executive Director, full-time position with benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Convene and facilitate monthly meetings for a 48-month period with multiple stakeholders, RL multi-disciplinary justice team, community members, other tribal stakeholders, and external partners to initiate, implement a four-year program and services that will lead to improvements of services youth in the justice system, youth at risk of academic failure, youth at risk of self-harm, a reduction of juvenile recidivism rates;

• Develop a needs assessment tool, intake, tracking tools that will inform RLN about juvenile and needs in relation to justice services, mental health services, programs, and gaps in the current Red Lake justice services and staffing plan;

• Develop a resource mapping tool for the Red Lake Nation and surrounding areas re: juvenile and services/programs;

• Identify strengths, gaps, challenges, identification of potential external partners and resources necessary to support a comprehensive Tribal Youth Program strategic plan;

• Create a three-year strategic plan that will bring all relevant departments/staff together to review the data, analyze and sift through the myriad of potential solutions, prioritize the solutions that will be most effective to address the identified problems;

• Develop, plan, coordinate the implementation of all identified Evidence Base Programs, Tribal Best Practices contained within the scope of the grant;

• Develop, plan, coordinate the implementation of the Academic Mentoring component of the program;

• Supervise all activities related to the Academic Mentoring Program;

• Evaluate all components;

• Responsible for all federal and tribal reports;

• Outreach and communicate with youth, family, community members of Red Lake to inform and engage community with the goals and objectives;

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor Degree in; Education, Juvenile Justice, Social Work

• Five (5) year work experience in leadership and management experience in a youth services, juvenile justice services, youth support in 6-12 grade educational setting

• Strong written & verbal communication skills

• Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and problem solving skills

• Knowledge of tribal economics, federal, state, private funding mechanisms

• Must possess strong computer skills and experience in fostering a team approach to youth development and creating collaboration among partner organizations in youth development

• Proof of valid state driver license

• Abide by the Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club Zero Tolerance Policy

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
