RED LAKE NATION BOYS & GIRLS CLUB

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible to assist on attaining the goals and objectives contained in the "Good Path of Life" Tribal Youth Program leading to improve the health and wellness of Red Lake Nation youth. Reports to Executive Director, part-time position, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Provide academic support during assigned hours to Red Lake Middle and High School students

• Perform administrative activities, including scheduling, recordkeeping, and tutoring coordination

• Develop a full working knowledge of academic skills development materials and strategies to support Red Lake Youth in need of academic support

• Participate in outreach activities (i.e., presenting information regarding study skills and academic support) on behalf of the "The Good Path of Life" Tribal Youth Program

• Serves as a liaison between the "The Good Path of Life" Tribal Youth Program and ISD #38

• Develop Intake and Tracking Tools for all youth involved in the academic mentoring program

• Recruit college and paraprofessional mentors for the program

• Provide monthly reports on all activities of the academic mentoring program

• Outreach and communicate with youth, family, community members of Red Lake Nation to inform and engage community with the goals and objectives

• Contribute to developing strategies to increase academic success of Red Lake Middle and High School students

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate of Arts Degree in Education

• Five (5) year experience in leadership for youth 6-12 grade educational setting

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Flexibility with regard to work environment

• Ability to work with middle school and high school students one-on-one and in small groups

• Must have a valid license and insured vehicle

• Abide by the Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club Zero Tolerance Policy

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
