PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Perform routine heavy physical labor work efficiently at the Sanitation working sites, reports to Director, full-time with benefits, salary; $12.00 hourly.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

• Know, understand and implement standardized policies and procedures

• Able to move heavy equipment, and supplies either manually or using other industrial equipment at each site

• Have knowledge of and ability to operate a variety of heavy and light equipment and vehicles

• Conducts visual inspections as needed to prevent disposal of prohibited materials

• Assists users in the proper placement of materials

• Loads trailers and containers in accordance with site policies

• Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the worksites

• Perform daily preventative maintenance on all program tools, equipment, and vehicles; including checking vehicle fluid levels, changing vehicle fluids (when necessary), and making sure all tools and equipment are in safe, working condition

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, vehicle operators, contractors, and the general public

• Have knowledge of tools, equipment, and safety procedures for materials used pertaining to waste disposal operations and follow all proper safety guidelines when using said tools and equipment

• To perform heavy labor in environments characterized by heat or cold, dust, noise, rain, and snow

• Have the ability to push, pull, drag, or lift over 50+ pounds

• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• GED/High School Diploma

• Three (3) year experience in construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of wells and water towers used for the production and distribution of water

• Excellent motor vehicle driving record, with no accidents or moving violations

• Must have a current and valid Minnesota Driver's License, commercial license preferred

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
