She was born in Rice Lake, Minnesota on July 18, 1933, the daughter of John Auginaush and Louise Gagnon. She graduated from Bagley High School with the class of 1953. Isabelle married her high school sweetheart, Theodore Thompson, on March 18, 1953 and raised some of their nieces and nephews together. She went on to complete nursing school in Thief River Falls, MN. She was a wonderful nurse, working at the White Earth CHR from its beginning and also for the Bagley Hospital and Nursing Service. She retired in June of 1989.

Isabelle later divorced Theodore and married Wilfred Kier. Together, her and Wilfred raised her grandchildren, Heather, Henry, and Lucy, as well as numerous foster children. Wilfred passed in September of 1999. Fate had it that Isabelle and Theodore were reunited as companions and were together until his passing in 2004.

She was a member of the Episcopal church and would help out when she could. She enjoyed baking and cooking, traveling, and playing Bingo and cards. She loved spending time at the lake house with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, especially playing board games. Isabelle had a good sense of humor and fun. She was a lady who wasn't afraid to speak her mind and was respected for her advice and wisdom. She will be tremendously missed.

She is survived by her children, Ervin (Denille) Thompson, Mike (Lynette) Thompson; her daughter-in-law, Sheila Thompson; her special grandchildren, Heather (Nick) Miller, Henry Thompson, and Lucy Thompson; her special nephews and nieces, Alfred (Evette) Fox, Henry (Mickie) Fox, Louis Fox, and Leah Tiley; her brothers, Richard (Lorraine) Fox, Sr., Earl Fox, and Louis (Leah) Fox; her sister-in-law; Bernadine Fox; 22 grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Auginaush and Louise Fox; her husbands, Theodore Thompson and Wilfred Kier; her children, Melvin Thompson and Susan Johnson; her granddaughter, Becky Thompson; her great great granddaughter, Olivia; and several siblings; and several nieces and nephews.
