Position Description: Lead Nurse (RN)-Red Lake, MN

Reports To: Clinic Supervisor-Medication Assisted Recovery Services (MARS)

Primary Function: The Lead Nurse is responsible for the management and programmatic oversight for all aspects of nursing services to ensure patients with opiate use disorders receive safe, reliable and compassionate medical care. Salary: DOQ

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Recruits, hires and retains nursing personnel to ensure dosing services are reliably dispensed to patients.

• Provides leadership and guidance to MARS medical staff.

• Maintains nursing schedule to ensure dosing services are consistently available.

• Ensures compliance with medical protocols, licensing standards, and policies & procedures.

• Serves as a liaison between the MARS program and internal/external providers, including contracted Suboxone agencies. Participates in organizational staff meetings.

• Assures client confidentiality is maintained according to federal rules and regulations.

• Monitors nursing services to maintain high quality patient care.

• Applies health care practices according to the nurse practice act and professional industry standards.

• Reviews patient and staff data to monitor the effectiveness of patient care.

• Oversees inventory and control policies to assure medications are safely stored, dispensed and destroyed.

• Monitors nursing documentation and conducts chart reviews to assure medical records are in compliance with program policies/procedures.

• Participates and represents the MARS program during professional meetings, trainings, and conferences.

• Ensures staff are properly trained and participate in ongoing professional development.

• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, plus a combination of two (2) years of nursing experience or training

• Prefer one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience

• Valid Minnesota Registered Nursing (RN) license

• Must possess a valid driver's license and automobile insurance

• Familiarity with the Minnesota Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act

• Must be a team player, dependable and work well in a busy/stressful clinic environment
