Tulsa World editorial: Federal court blocks state prosecution of American Indians in Creek 'reservation'

A three-judge panel of the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals really upset the state’s legal apple cart Tuesday, when it ruled that Oklahoma criminal courts in the 11 counties of the Creek Nation don’t have jurisdiction in cases involving American Indian defendants or victims.

All we could say when we read that was: “Wow!”
