Bemidji Pioneer: 'We're going to rise': Red Lake gathers to address opioid crisis

RED LAKE -- Some of those gathered at the Red Lake’s powwow grounds on Monday had relatives struggling with addiction; others were simply concerned citizens hoping to make their a community a better place.

But all 200 people who attended the Walk Against Substance Abuse had one goal: to address the heroin epidemic that prompted Red Lake’s Tribal Council to declare a state of emergency there.
