Bemidji Pioneer: Officials confirm Beltrami County tornado on Friday

KELLIHER -- Officials confirmed Monday that a tornado touched down “several times” during a thunderstorm Friday afternoon in Beltrami County, damaging multiple structures on a farm about 10 miles west of Kelliher.

According to a news release from the Beltrami County Sheriff’s Office, a severe thunderstorm produced the tornado in the area of Shilo Road and Corman Road at about 3:45 p.m. Friday. A farmer working in a nearby field saw the tornado touch down, the release said. The tornado and thunderstorms in the area resulted in in several barns, outbuildings, cattle shelters and grain bins being damaged or destroyed.
