CHEMICAL HEALTH PROGRAMS

PRIMARY FUNCTION

To be responsible for the overall administration of the Program in terms of planning, budgeting, organizing, developing human services and evaluating in accordance with federal, state, county and local standard guidelines and regulations, Reports to Executive Director, full-time w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• Administers, directs and coordinates all administrative activities for the program with the Executive Director.

• Responsible for educating the people of the Red Lake Indian Reservation about the functions and responsibilities of the Chemical Health Programs

• Collaborates with community, county, state and federal agencies to promote positive public relations and meet program objectives.

• Participates in educational presentations for community groups (i.e., schools and other agencies)

• Communicate with Tribal council by presenting program progress, verbal and written.

• Maintain Personnel Records for employees of Chemical Health Programs.

• Responsible for direction, consulting and insuring staff carry out their duties and responsibilities

• Assists with grants applications, reports, monitoring and compliance

• Must be able to organize, prepare and present written and oral information clearly and concisely

• Perform administrative requirements such as writing correspondence, memorandums, completing necessary forms, monthly, and quarterly and annual reports

• Responsible for monitoring budgets and accounting records.

• Adheres to state and federal policies to maintain and promote strict client and employee confidentiality

• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.

• Adhere to Professional Standards, Ethics and Boundaries.

• Assume Executive Director Responsibilities, in the absence of the Executive Director.

• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have a High School Diploma and/or two year's experience in the field of human services

• At least two year's of chemical dependency rehabilitation experience including supervisory experience

• Ability to work cohesively with Management and local agencies

• Must have at least two year's sobriety

• Must have valid Minnesota Driver's License with auto insurance

• Knowledge of the traditions and customs of the Native American people native to the Red Lake Reservation

• Must abstain and/or refrain from using mood altering chemicals while employed

• Must submit to mandatory random alcohol/drug testing

• Must be on-call 24-hours a day, seven days a week

• Must have knowledge of the 12-step AA Program

• Must have the ability to make independent decisions, have adequate concept of the program and projects
