May 4, 1929 ~ June 10, 2017 (age 88)

Agnes Hardy, Jiibaakwe ikwe which means “Lady Cook”, age 88, of the Eagle Clan and formerly of Ponemah, Minnesota journeyed to the spirit world on Saturday, June 10th, 2017 from the Jourdain-Perpich Extended Care Facility in Red Lake. She was born on May 4th, 1929 in Ponemah, MN.

Agnes lost her parents at a very young age and was raised by her aunt in Ponemah. She was a very friendly but private lady who loved and cared for her cats and her monkey, George. Agnes will be missed dearly.

Agnes is welcomed to the spirit world by her husband; William Hardy, her parents, her brother; Louis Kingbird, Sr. and other family members.

She leaves behind her step-daughters; Williamette Morrison and Maxine Hardy both of Ponemah, special niece; Shirley Hardy-Spears of Ponemah, nephews; Clifford and William Hardy both of Ponemah and special friend Hester Greenleaf and many more relatives.

An overnight wake for Agnes will begin at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 13th and continue until her traditional service at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 14th, 2017 all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN. Allen Hardy will be her spiritual advisor. Helping to lay Agnes to rest are Oriole Kingbird, William Hardy, Aaron Johnson, Kyle Hardy, Gary Spears, Jr. and alternates. Her honorary pallbearers are Dorothy Cabenais, Myrna Hardy, Doris Strong, Judy French, Liza Johnson and all her friends and the Staff at Jourdain-Perpich. Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds in Mahquambay, MN following her Wednesday service.
