Bemidji Pioneer: Redby man pleads not guilty to sex crime

BEMIDJI -- A Redby man who was charged with a felony after allegedly arranging to meet and have sex with an undercover officer he thought was a child pleaded not guilty Monday.

Gary Lee Cobenais, 43, was initially charged with soliciting a child or someone believed to be a child through electronic communication to engage in sexual conduct. That charge was dropped two weeks ago and Cobenais was instead charged with engaging in electronic communication relating to or describing sexual conduct with a child.
