BODY FOUND IN LAKE BEMIDJI

On May 15th, 2017 at approximately 2:00 pm the Beltrami county Sheriff's Office responded to a report of a deceased male, face down in the water, near the Paul Bunyan Park dock on Lake Bemidji.

Responding officers and emergency personnel recovered the body of an adult male from the water. The male appeared to be approximately 50 years old.

The case remains under investigation and the body will be sent to the Beltrami County Coroner for positive identification as well as a determination of cause and manner of death.

The Beltrami County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Bemidji Police Department, Minnesota Department of Natural Resources and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension at the scene.
