Bemidji Pioneer: Grant funds Leech Lake youth projects: Trip to Denver for youth conference a highlight

CASS LAKE—A grant awarded to the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe on Thursday will fund six youth-oriented projects, including a trip to a Colorado leadership conference.

Richard Gardell, the chair of Minnesota's Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee, presented a $54,000 check to the band at the beginning of Thursday's tribal council meeting. The six projects include:
