Bemidji Pioneer: Leech Lake competing in U.S. Dept. of Energy solar challenge

CASS LAKE -- The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe is taking on a challenge to increase its ability to provide solar power.

According to a press release, Leech Lake Financial Services announced Monday that it has been selected to participate in the Solar in Your Community Challenge from the United States Department of Energy. The challenge includes a prize of $5 million and is a competition that aims to expand solar electricity access to low and moderate income families.
