Gerald "Jerry" Wayne Blue

Gerald Wayne Blue, 72 of Red Lake, MN began his journey on Saturday, April 8, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at the Red Lake Center in Red Lake, MN with Tom Pollack officiating. A wake will begin at 10:00 am on Thursday and go until the time of the service. Interment will be at the family home in Little Rock under the direction of the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bemidji.

He was born April 17, 1944 in Red Lake, MN, the son of Albert "Buddy" Stately and Margaret Stately (Blue). Jerry enjoyed many things but being an avid Warriors fan he especially enjoyed traveling to games and watching them play. When health issues prevented him from going to a game he was not the happiest of fellows, as his beloved wife Patricia would say and would settle for sitting by the radio to "watch" them that way. He and Patricia were well known for their active part in church events and were invited to sing numerous times in the surrounding towns where they met many friends and were glad to have them as their fellow Christians. They loved traveling for whatever reason would arise, whether it be shopping for family or just a trip to the casino. Even after the passing of his beloved wife and travel partner Jerry enjoyed being on the road and he treasured his time spent with his family and friends but his greatest joy was watching his many grandchildren laugh and play. Jerry worked briefly in Grand Forks, ND as a laborer after which he moved back to Red Lake where he gained employment with the Red Lake Housing Authority where he received his electrician's certification and for 38 years he really enjoyed meeting people and talking with his fellow co-workers. He also spent many years on the Little Rock District Board as treasurer and helped with community activities/events. Jerry was deeply loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his children, Vicki Stately and Keith Blue of Red Lake; brothers, James "Sonny" Droulliard, Darwin Stately, Bruce "Talon" Stately and George Stately; 12 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry is joining his wife and best friend, Patricia Jane Blue; sisters, Dora and Leatrice, brother, Albert, Sr., aunts, Alice and Melinda, niece Juanita Bonga, nephew, Albert Stately, Jr., great niece, Autumn Bonga and great great granddaughter, Aubrey Brun.

Active Casketbearers will be Daniel Brun, Kenneth "Josh" Brun, Donald Brun, Kevin Spears, Anthony Benais and Keith Blue with alternates, Sonny Droulliard, Darwin Stately and George Stately.

Honorary Casketbearers will be Shieleen Omen, Adrian Omen, Mary Omen, Linda Omen, Dana Bonga, William May, Sr., Cora May/Charnoski, Ruth May, Karen May, Carol May/Bonga, Richard Barrett, Lucy Barrett, Kathy Annette, Tim Brown, Tammy Brown, Cody Spears, Michelle Brun, Josephine Smith, Tom Pollack, Becky Pollack, Richard Gibbs, Roman Stately, Donnie Bo Brun, Kristen Lussier, Delores Lasley, Harlow Spears, Amelia Benais, Alaina Parkhurst, Phylis Sumner, Olga Hanson, Judy Roy, Jackie Sayers, Connie Berg, Evon Spears and all his grandchildren, great grandchildren and RLHA staff.
