James (Jimmy) Weldon Rowe, 48 years old, of Minneapolis, Minnesota and the Fish Clan began his spiritual journey April 5, 2017 from his home. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on May 21, 1968.

Growing up and into adulthood Jimmy was wiry, smiley and full of energy. His passion was cooking and was very good at it. He was also a hard worker. He loved to be around his friends and all his family, both biological and adopted. They were all very important to him. He was so very excited when he discovered his biological family and was welcomed by them with open arms after having been separated at birth. School was always a struggle for Jimmy and it was a very proud day for him when he graduated from South High School. Discovering the Anishinabe Wakiagun house was a key event in his adult life. It was an important place for him, giving him a home where he was accepted, safe and cared for. His son Quinton Kennedy lives on the Cattaraugus Indian Reservation in New York with his mother Carrie Kennedy.

Those welcoming Jimmy are his mother and father; William and Norma Rowe, mother and father; Rachel and Kenneth Smith, sister; Connie White, niece; Deanna White, grandparents; Hartley and Lillian White, Sr., uncle; Joseph White, aunts; Shirley White and Patrice Johnson and other relatives.

Those he leaves behind are his son; Quinton Kennedy of New York, sister; Julie Rowe and brother-in-law; Josh Radinski of Chicago, IL, brothers; Tony (Kelly) Novak of Cass Lake, Ken (Barb) White of Shakopee, aunts; Linda Morris, Donna (Duane) White, Nancy Emmick, Patricia Bade, Peggy White, and special aunt; Jean Howard, uncles; Hartley White, Jr., Richard Emmick, Milton Bade and Gary Johnson, nephews; Wyatt White, Matthew Koch, Brandon White, Sr., John Charnoski, Ben, Sam and Joe Radinsky, nieces; Rosalie White, Lauren Hott and Chantel and Cheyenne Novak, many cousins and friends.

An overnight wake for Jimmy will be at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, April 9th at the Little Earth Gymnasium, 2501 Cedar Ave, Minneapolis, MN. Jimmy will then travel to Sugar Point for another overnight wake that will begin at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 10th at Sugar Point Community Center and will continue until his traditional service at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 11th. His spiritual advisor will be Steve Jackson. Those helping lay Jimmy to rest will be Jack Reyes, Wyatt White, Nathan Howard, Larry Ranallo, Brandon White, Sr., Nicholas Howard, Gino, John Charnoski and Butch Wuellner. His honorary pallbearers are Quentin Kennedy, Tony Novak, Ken White, Hartley White, Jr., Gina from Bena, Tommy Ranallo, Josh Radinsky, Julie Rowe, Chris Zimmerman, Anishinabe Wakiagun Staff and Residents, Leech Lake Twin Cities Office Staff and all his friends from the Moose. Interment will be in the Battle Point Cemetery at Battle Point, Minnesota.
