The second half featured three ties but the Panthers were never able to take the lead.

Rob McClain led Red Lake with 19 points and 14 rebounds as the Warriors picked up their tenth win in their last eleven games and improved their overall record to 24-4.

Section 8A West Championship – #2 Stephen/Argyle 47 vs. #1 Ada/Borup 39

The Stephen-Argyle Storm built a double-digit lead in the second half and showed a hot hand from the free throw line to hold off the Ada-Borup Cougars to claim the 8A West Sub Section crown. With Stephen-Arglye leading by four at halftime, both teams started the second half with a scoring drought before a pair of quick buckets got the Storm's offense brewing on their way to opening a ten-point lead. Ada-Borup then found the energy to climb back to tie the game at 36-36. But there was not enough to complete the comeback as the Cougars would score only one more basket the remainder of the game while Stephen-Argyle scored nine of their next eleven from the free throw line to close the game out.
