After being down by 16, Cass Lake comes back to beat Win-E-Mac 65-63 in OT - P5

Section 8A East Semifinal – #3 Win-E-Mac 63 vs. #2 Cass Lake/Bena 65
The Cass Lake-Bena Panthers overcame a 16 point deficit in the second half and moved on in the Section 8A Tournament with the overtime win over the Win-E-Mac Patriots.
With the Panthers trailing 47-31, Cass Lake-Bena started their comeback due in large part to Win-E-Mac turnovers and the three point shooting of Ethan Brown and Arnold Kingbird.
The Panthers connected on five three pointers in their comeback that would eventually give them the lead at 57-56 with two minutes left in regulation.
Hunter Chaput hit a big shot late in regulation for Win-E-Mac to send the game into overtime tied at 60-60.
The Panthers outscored the Patirots 5-3 in the overtime as a three point shot by Chaput missed at the end of overtime.
It was the second time this season that Cass Lake-Bena defeated Win-E-Mac with the Panthers winning on December 13th 60-56 in Cass Lake.
Arnold Kingbird led Cass Lake-Bena with 24 points as the Panthers improve their overall record to 21-7. Kingbird hit four of the ten three pointers that the Panthers made in the game.
Win-E-Mac was led by Alec Kiecker with 16 points as the Patriots end their season with an overall record of 22-7.
Cass Lake-Bena advances to the East Sub-Section 8A Championship game on Tuesday, March 14th against the Red Lake Warriors (6:00 pm on 96.7 FM & 106.5 pm at Thief River Falls). Cass Lake-Bena has won nine of their last ten games heading into Tuesday's game against Red Lake, but the Warriors have won all 3 games they played this season.
