Margaret Ann (Dow) Perkins, "Muggs", "Niizhooden" which means "Twin", 76, of Ponemah and the Bullhead Clan began her spiritual journey on Saturday, February 18, 2017, with her family by her side, from Sanford Hospital in Bemidji, Minnesota.  Muggs was born in Red Lake, MN on January 5, 1941 to Grover and Irene (Wilson) Miller-Dow.

Muggs dedicated her life to the children of Red Lake as a bilingual teacher for the Red Lake School District.  She spent 33 years there before retiring in 2010.  She was a very busy lady who liked to fish, go bowling and play softball and basketball for the Ponemah Bee's.  When she wasn't playing softball, she liked to watch it.  She loved playing Bingo and going to the casinos.  Muggs loved to cook, especially for her children and grandchildren's birthdays and she enjoyed, more than anything else, to spend time with her family.  She was an amazing woman who was loved by many and will most definitely be missed

Muggs will be welcomed to the spirit world by her parents;, Grover and Irene, husband; Isadore Perkins, daughter; Debbie, son; Mitchell, granddaughters; Chasidy Hardy and twins Breanna and Bethany Perkins, brothers; Dewayne, Eugene, Donald and Byron Dow, and sister; Alvina Dow.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons; Edward (Annie) Perkins of Ponemah, Ron Perkins of Redby and Curtis Perkins of Ponemah, daughters; Melinda Spears of Ponemah, Patricia Perkins of Bemidji, Charlotte (Darren) Iceman of Ponemah and Melissa (James Kingbird) Perkins of Bemidji, brothers; Edward and Bruce (Charice) Dow both of Ponemah, sisters; Joyce Brown and Olive (Kenny) Dow both of Ponemah, Delores Neadeau of Red Lake, special sons; Sheldon, Scott (Robyn) and Joshua Perkins, 23 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends.

A wake for Muggs will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 21st and continue until her 10:00 a.m. traditional service on Thursday, February 23rd all being held at the Boys and Girls Club in Ponemah, MN.  Her Spiritual Advisor will be Steve Jackson.  Pallbearers for Muggs will be Scott Perkins, Joshua Perkins, Brian Dow, James Kingbird, Darren Iceman, Martin Raincloud, Carter Dow and Jordan Dow.  Alternate pallbearers are Sheldon Perkins, Melvin Whitefeather, Jr., Travis Dow, Tyrone Dow, Mitchell Fineday and Terrence Perkins.  Her honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildren, all her family members, Annie Fineday, Robyn Johnson, Elizabeth "Roonie" Kingbird and Armella Charwood.  Interment will be in the Family Burial Grounds at Ponemah following her Thursday service.

Margaret's care has been entrusted to Northern Peace Funeral Home of Walker.  Online condolences for the family may be left at http://www.northernpeace.com
