Surprise! TV Show Set On Native American Reservation To Have Predominantly Native American Cast

WGN America have hired Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, the Belgian writing-directing duo behind the 2015 Toronto Film Festival winning drama Black, to direct the pilot of the television adaptation of Scalped. The hard-boiled crime drama set on a Native American reservation was originally written by Jason Aaron and drawn by R.M. Guéra and ran for 60 issues at Vertigo.

In a first for American television, the series will feature a predominantly Native American cast, which we're taking to mean that all the leads will be white, while all the supporting cast will be Native American. Need to hold onto that Midwest television-watching demographic.
