Bender graduates from UND

GRAND FORKS, N.D.-The Recruitment/Retention of American Indians into Nursing (RAIN) at the University of North Dakota has announced the fall 2016 graduation of Mamie Bender, a member of the Red Lake Nation from the UND nursing program at the College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines .

Bender is from Red Lake and is the daughter of Mamie Rossbach.

The RAIN program provides academic and nonacademic support services to American Indian students in pre-nursing, nursing, and graduate programs at UND. The RAIN program was established in 1990 to increase the number of nurses at baccalaureate and master's levels to provide health care to Indian people.
