FERN ROSE BRANCHAUD

September 21, 1927 - December 19, 2016

Fern Branchaud, age 89, of Staples passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples. The funeral service for Fern will be Friday, December 23, at 2 PM, at Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples. Visitation will be at the funeral chapel from 1-2:00 PM. Interment will be at St. James Cemetery in Philbrook.

Fern Rose Branchaud was born September 21, 1927 in Detroit Lakes, to Forrest and Nellie (Hedglin) Webster. She grew up in Detroit Lakes, and was united in marriage to Martin Branchaud on February 13, 1948. The couple lived in Fargo for a time, then moved to Ponsford and then back to Detroit Lakes. In 1973, Fern moved to Dent. She worked at the potato plant and the egg plant in Perham. She worked at the turkey plant in Pelican Rapids, a job that she retired from after thirty years of service. Fern moved to Staples in 2007. She loved horses and miniature donkeys, and her many collections included horse statues. She enjoyed reading, baking, embroidery, and gardening. She also loved spending time with her great grandchildren

Fern will be missed by her children, Victoria Tomlinson, McAllen, TX, Debbie Prodoehl, Dardanelle, AR, Mickie (Bob) Hessenius, Brook Park, MN, Kyle "Rocky" (Barb) Branchaud, Motley, MN, Kathie (Tim) Carlson, Motley, MN, Patrick (Connie) Branchaud, Austin, MN, Robin (Terrie) Branchaud, Lake Park, MN; and Douglas Branchaud, Detroit Lakes, MN; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Howard Webster, Webster, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Nellie Webster; four brothers, Gordon, George, Gerald, and Bob; an infant sister; a grandson, Luke Hessenius; two sons-in-law, Bruce Tomlinson and Del Prodoehl; her husband, Martin Branchaud and special friend in life, Norb Rosenthal. Arrangements entrusted to Brenny Funeral Chapel of Staples.
