Bemidji, Minn. - Thanks to the generosity of Beltrami Electric Cooperative Members, the Beltrami Electric Cooperative Trust Board for Operation Round Up® recently awarded 28 grants to area nonprofit and community organizations totaling $39,391. Grant applications were received representing more than $174,000 in local community projects.
Operation Round Up® is a charitable program unique to electric cooperatives and is designed to give members a means of working together to use their small change to make a big impact in their local communities.
The Trust Board, made up of five volunteers from our community, meets quarterly to review applications for grants and disburse funds. The funding guidelines are as follows: Community Service, Economic Development, Education & Youth and Environment. The next quarterly application deadline is December 31, 2016.
