Cherokee Nation Sends Two Semi-Truck Loads of Firewood to Standing Rock

TAHLEQUAH – In another gesture of solidarity in support of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe’s fight against the Dakota Access pipeline, the Cherokee Nation loaded semi-trucks full of wood on September 22, 2016 bound for the encampments near the Standing Rock Indian Reservation, near Cannon Ball, North Dakota.

In all, some 52 ricks of wood were loaded on the two trucks.

“It’s to keep the protestors of the Dakota Access Pipeline who are camped out, warm this winter,” commented a Cherokee spokesperson to Native News Online.
