FAMILY & CHILDREN SERVICES

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Community Service Developer staff person will work to plan and implement community services and to increase efforts to enroll individuals who are eligible for Medicaid. This position is under the direction of the Executive Director of the Family & Children Services Adult Protection/Vulnerable Adults program. Full-time, w/benefits, salary: DOQ.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Working on behalf of the Red Lake Nation to identify priorities and to create and plan for community service development tailored to meet the needs.

• Developing plans for increasing Medicaid enrollment among tribal members.

• Collaborating across the tribal program areas to assure that efforts are coordinated and do not conflict with other Red Lake Nation tribal initiatives.

• Providing Executive Director with regular updates about the progress of the project.

• Participating in discussions with the Department of Human Services – Office of Indian Policy and the Money Follows the Person Tribal Initiative project for the purposes of coordinating efforts and collaboration.

• Preparing quarterly reports and updates to fulfill contract requirements of the project and assisting the Department by providing input and information for the completion of Phase Two – Operation Protocol.

• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field, four years of relevant experience maybe considered in lieu of degree.

• Two years of experience working with Elders

• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

• Must be able to work with community organizations.

• Good organizational skills

• Must have a valid Minnesota's Driver's License, and auto insurance.

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check.
