SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

Responsible for performing human resources related duties on a professional level for the Comprehensive Health Services and Jourdain Perpich Extended Care Center employees. This position carries out responsibilities in the following areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, recruitment, and employment law compliance. Reports to Human Resources Director – Government Center, full-time position, w/benefits, salary; DOQ.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for administration of hiring, retention, and separations of employees including administering background and drug screenings, orientations, employee trainings, and termination processing and compliance

• Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains employee handbook and policies and procedures manual

• Responsible for administering all workers' compensation claims including but not limited to filing reports with workers' compensation carrier

• Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

• Administer human resources policies, procedures and programs to management and employees, training and development, benefits, compensation, and employment practices. Ensure HR policies are upheld

• Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions, implementing selected solution, coaching and counseling managers and employees

• Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees

• Conducts recruitment effort for nonexempt personnel

• Experience handling sensitive and confidential situations, investigations and data

• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree and three to five years' human resource experience and two years' experience in the HR field, and/or any similar combination of education and experience

• Ability to write presentations and present information effectively to top management, and public groups

• Experience handling sensitive and confidential situations, investigations and data

• Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Excel

• Working knowledge of all Employment and Labor Laws on both the federal and state level

• Excellent written, oral, and verbal communications

• High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations

• Employment contingent upon successfully passing Pre-Employment Drug/Alcohol Test and Background Check
