Floyd Jorgensen, 89, of Bemidji, MN died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center.

Memorial services will be 11:30 a.m., Thursday, April 7, 2016 at First Lutheran Church, with Pastor Corey Fuhrmann and Pastor Linnea Papke-Larson officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at church. Services are entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Bemidji.

Floyd Wesley Jorgensen was born June 1, 1926 in Luck, WI to Jens & Barbro Jorgensen. He grew up on the family farm which had a special place in his heart. He attended Dana College, Augsburg Seminary and finally Colorado State University. It was at Dana that he met and then married Dorothy Landbo on December 19, 1953 in Chicago, IL. Floyd worked as an Agricultural Extension Agent on the Red Lake Indian Reservation which allowed him to live with his family in the Bemidji and Pinewood areas. His main focus in life was his devotion to family, his faith, the Red Lake Nation and teaching his love of nature to others, especially children. Floyd was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Debs for several years and finally First Lutheran Church, Bemidji.

He is survived by wife, Dorothy; children, Mark (Connie) Jorgensen, Bemidji; Ann Jorgensen, Duluth, MN; Karen (Susan) Blackford, Beavercreek, OH; Lois (Brian) Williams, Lakeville, MN and Marty (Dawn Loeffler) Cobenais, Bagley, MN; 11 grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Roymund, Leif, Melvin and Robert.

Memorials preferred to First Lutheran Church, Bemidji.
