BELTRAMI-BEMIDJI TRIAD MEETING ANNOUCEMENT

The Beltrami-Bemidji TRAID program would like to announce the scheduling of the March TRIAD meeting being held on at 12:30PM Thursday, March 10th, 2016 at the Bemidji Senior Center at 216 3rd St NW. Topics covered for March’s meeting include: an update on recent scams targeting the community, credit card skimming, depression among the elderly and how to get help, and department updates from and an opportunity to visit with Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp and Bemidji Police Chief Mike Mastin.

TRIAD’s goal is to promote relationships with seniors as older Americans represent the most rapidly growing segment of the population; one in every eight Americans is age 65 or older. Seniors are less likely to be connected through social media and immediate electronic technologies, therefore decreasing their awareness of crime trends and personal safety. TRIAD also gives seniors an opportunity to interact with law enforcement and public safety to allow their concerns to be heard and addressed.

Everyone is welcome to attend the Beltrami-Bemidji TRIAD meeting. An optional lunch is available at the Bemidji Senior Center at 12:00PM, provided by Lutheran Social Services Senior Nutrition (LSS). A suggested donation of $4.00 for those 60 years and older and a charge of $7.25 for those under 60 years is requested for lunch. If you plan to join LSS for lunch, please call ahead at 218-444-3987, their office hours are 8:30AM-1:00PM.
